hands down the best audiobook I’ve heard so far! I like Saeris and the way she stood her ground and held her own. Also Kingfisher is probably a legend at this point. I did get a bit frustrated at the end when pretty much no questions were answered and even more were created. It’s that building toward more books that sometimes gets to me. Like do we know anything yet about the relics? No. I do love how much happens at the end of the book and the twists and turns but I was hoping for more answers. We spent so long building up the story of Yvelia and asking questions about it, but now I’m not sure it matters anymore?

I really enjoyed this book and im excited to see where it goes however the main character is insufferably dumb. She drove me nuts

My pet peeve is when I book gives all the exposition/lore through long chunks of dialogue. This book does a lot of that. Thankfully, the author breaks up these chunks of dialogue with bits of action, making it tolerable to push through. There’s some cringey lines and there’s some plot holes. However, the combat was amazing, the romance was great, and the story was good.
I lowkey hate saeris she’s just super annoying and bratty and stupid and I don’t buy into their tension at all like obviously they’re fated mates or whatever it is in this book. Just feels unoriginal and overdone at this point imo

I got through this book in 2 days. It would have taken me one if I didn’t have a job. It was perfection. After Kingdom of Ash, this is my favorite book of the year. Fisher is now at the top of my fantasy BF list. I have pre-ordered Brimstone already! Can’t wait to see what happens next.
