Replete with false statistics, strawmen and misrepresentations, and even conspiracy theories at times. Also, denying evolution in 2008? Come on.

A bit repetitious in places and the author acknowledges this as he continues to make the points.
This book is more secular than Christian and makes very good points that are worth reading and seeing the whole picture.
*******************
Because someone left a comment, (which is now gone), attacking my character and made some erroneous assumptions about me, I thought I'd add a bit more information in the review for this book.

This book is not an attack on people, but about statistics, economics, laws supporting behaviours that are beneficial and and prohibit those that are destructive. The culture of same-sex marriage from an evolutionary perspective is not sustainable. And even a secular perspective would mention morality. It is largely written from that viewpoint.

Topics touched on:
We want equal rights
homosexuality is like race
homosexuals:
were born that way
can't change
you are just a homophobe
you need to be tolerant
etc. etc. etc.

The book and the arguments are not about hate but about facts. However, it is an emotionally charged topic.

Oh I had to read this I just had to!!
As a completely asexual person, I can come at books like these with an open mind and a voracious curiosity that says, "Oh really, show me what you got!!"

The good:
1. Mr FT doesn't ...actively... hate on gay people. He remains pleasant throughout and it's really only what he says in the book that shows his deep seated fear and horror of folk toting rainbow flags.
2. Author man tries to use statistics and logic to explain his point of view and it all sounds terribly legitimate - at least until you do some digging yourself.

So fairs fair I'll give him that.

Oh now let's get into the part we all really came for!
Why this book should not be read by human beings except as a sort of textbook to the many ways people try to rationalize their hate!

- He cheerfully overlooks the many reasons hetrosexual marriages break down.
- He cheerfully overlooks the multi-faceted reasons for some of the statistics in his book. Life is not black and white, it never will be.
- He cheerfully overlooks the many reasons that can make a Childs life unhappy, not just the sex of their parents, and fails to note that the vast VAST overwhelmingly VAST numbers of children in foster care come from straight families.
- He cheerfully overlooks the how and why's of a couple being happy and instead tries to attach all negative, or positive, values to them based on sexuality alone.
- He cheerfully overlooks that many of the "afflictions" gay people have, straight people have as well, this being as both types are HUMAN BEINGS and prone to mischief!
- He cheerfully overlooks that many straight people get AIDS or make up the most number of pedo's or have bad marriages or a wealth of other things that, if he just watched the news once in a while, would give it all away!
- He cheerfully overlooks the fact that society is largely moving away from marriage due to the fact that it's not the 'holy mecca' of relationships it once used to be. A child born out of wedlock isn't the horror/gasp/oh no! it used to be. Mankind has evolved.

So honestly this cheerful little man and his love of homosexuals (he's their biggest supporter don't you know?), needs a smack in the face with the wet codfish of reality!
This book is only recommended to folk who want to see the Dunning-Kruger effect hit an all time high!

Let's all go read other things! YAY!
