It was your average historical romance ngl but the ferret was new (that recommended Beatrix’s book more than anything). And maybe the part where she was high and abt to fall off a roof. Otherwise though. Basic. Anyways. 3.25 stars?

3.5 stars. This just wasn’t my bag. I liked Leo overall, but I’m not into rakes. And Catherine Marks is too uptight for me. Idk, the chemistry/didn’t work for me.

I do love a couple that has banter and tension and Leo and Miss Marks fit the bill! The spectacles design is especially endearing.

I feel like Leo lost a lot of his zest that made him so compelling in the previous two books. Not that he still wasn't witty, but I expected a lot more in his own book especially because of how far he's come from the start of the series.
