This has become one of my litmus test books for deciding whether to trust someone's book recommendations. It's an insipid little fable. I imagine it's most popular among men who think they should be rich.
Loved it wow it made me cry on the plane, THE OMEN STUFF IS REAL WOW it’s the universe helping us. Me reading this book at this exact time was an omen. Every time I tried to read more, things kept happening, so I had to wait till the plane ride home to finish it… and wow that gave me chills.
WOW. I read this purely to see what all the fuss is about and, instead, was slapped in the face by so many personal truths. Coelho is an incredible writer of metaphors and the translator should be commended. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

A new favorite of mine. Up there with Siddhartha. It's the story of a boy who set out to follow his dream, considers giving up many times, and learns a lot in the end.

This book is written so beautifully, in a way that you simply must step back and consider your own place in the story, and in the world.
This was the final of several attempts to read Paulo Coelho's bestselling book, The Alchemist. It actually is a quick and easy read. The story tells of a boy's adventure to discover his Personal Legend. The book is full of beautiful metaphors and thoughts on spirituality, God, and the cycle of universe. That being said, perhaps it was a little out there or religious for me. I didn't understand what all the hype is about.
