I have never been interested in reading James Patterson. I'm not really into the whole suspense genre and I don't even care much for the movies based on his books. Also, the storyline sounded a bit interesting, but mostly cheesy. So imagine my surprise when it went down like this:

12 p.m. - Went to the library with Ashleigh and checked the book out.
6:45p.m. - Began reading the book.
10:45 p.m. - Finished the book.

Seriously. I don't think I've ever read a book so quickly.

Here's the thing, this book isn't going to change your life. You aren't going to walk away from it feeling as if you've learned some great lesson. But it is FUN. It is really fun and easy to read and entertaining. And some of the characters are so well-developed that you can see them in your mind perfectly, which I love. For me, Vivienne was Meryl Streep from The Devil Wears Prada. And Hugh was Jason Smith from Sex and the City. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I was in the mood for something light and fun and this was it for sure.

Magical romance in its simplest and cozy way.

Upon reading the synopsis, I was intrigued, but also had a skeptical feeling about it. Is it possible for an imaginary friend to become someone's true love? I'm aware of the fantasy aspect, but I'm still uncertain if I'll enjoy it.

I unexpectedly had a good time with this. The story is heartwarming, and the authors did an excellent job of making me feel the shock of the plot twist. I can empathize with Jane and understand her hardships of having an overbearing mother who controls everything. When something happened to Vivienne, Jane's mother, I also felt guilty for being unfair in my judgment of her.

With its fast pace and simple plot, this book is a great read. The imaginary friend element makes it more magical. In summary, this was a good glimpse of a story about friendship, true love, and motherly love.

I think this is my 3rd or 4th time reading this story in the past several years. It is a wonderful feel good book where the girl gets the imaginary friend (Yes you read that correctly gets her imaginary friend. How cool is that) Read if you would like a little magic and a little romance. :)

It started out fine but I found it quite tacky and sappy in the end. I don't know, sorry. This was definitely one of my least favorite reads.

I probably could have finished it within a day, but I wanted to space myself out with it as I've been so used to taking months to finish a book...

So this one is about a woman who falls in love with her imaginary friend (who she had when she was 8) and accidently runs into him in real life when she was in her 30's. It follows their 'love story', although it wasn't a very well developed story. But anyway, the premise behind the book was cute and I could definitely see a romantic comedy movie come out of it, if the story itself could be better developed.

Listened to this audiobook on a 9 hour car ride... What the heck did I just listen to? This was a weird, strangely creepy story that had very little actual substance. Had I not been stuck in a car with not much else to do, I wouldn't have finished this.

Creepy... the ending doesn't leave you with any answers and felt completely outta left field.

This is very different from the other books I have read from James Patterson. Very unexpected but sometimes the unexpected can turn out to be a good thing. I read the book in two evenings before bed so it definitely held my attention. Overall, it was a very nice read fun and heartwarming. The characters are warm and genuine. You will fall in love with Jane Michael and Vivienne!
