So... I was really happy with where the second book ended and was leery or what this one would bring. I have to say that I didn't hate it. I loved having a little bit more of this world, but it was really unnecessary. This book basically opened up so many more questions and skipped over a lot of time at the end to fit in an epilogue. Like I said, I felt everything was nicely wrapped up in the last one with their life together just about to start.

Either way, I liked the thought but this one was just unnecessary and felt like it was made just to make the series a trilogy.

I really did like this book. I'm giving it a 4.5, and the only reason i'm not giving it anymore was because of one thing. The Half Breed having a tail. I was really hoping for it to go more in depth with how Reed sported a tail. I was also hoping for Emma to get one, but it not looking like a deformed chicken. But other than that the book was good.

The installment was spoilt by Emma's moronic behaviour.

This was completely unnecessary and quite boring, though the epilogue was cute.

¿A qué me refiero?
Saludos, Danna.

I've been a big fan since reading Of Poseidon- Anna Bank's first novel, and the first book in the series of The Serena Legacy trilogy- her writing is hilarious, sarcastic, and vividly descriptive. A refreshing, lighter view in the melee of dark fantasy YA novels lining bookstore shelves.

Emma leaves home with Galen, her love and Triton prince on a getaway to free his mind from the tragedy of losing Rachel- a close friend of his- and to discuss their future plans. Will Emma move into the underwater kingdom with Galen, or will Galen follow Emma to college? It's something they plan on figuring out, until something significantly larger comes to mind.
At the suggestion of her Grandfather, a Poseidon king, that they visit a town called Neptune on their way to wherever; Emma drags Galen along in search of this unmapped place.
Stopping nearby to check out a spring and it's underwater caves, they come across a strange pulse in the water: a freshwater Syrena and half-breed named Reed, who just so happens to be from the town they're headed for. Neptune.
Until now, nor Emma or Galen have seen another half-breed in existence. (They've been the abominations of Syrena life for centuries.) What they find in this small, country town is more than they ever would have expected: a haven for dozens upon dozens of half-breeds, like Emma, hiding from Syrena law. It's a secret the kings of Poseidon have been keeping for generations, passing it on to their successors as they take the throne.
Emma is now faced with deciding whether she should stay here, where she feels she belongs for the first time in her life, or return to her old life with Galen- and maybe the ocean. But a few townies have different ideas; they want to indulge in their birthrights, be a part of the ocean once again, and so they take it upon themselves to make it happen.

I wasn't so much in love with the third book, and final book. I felt the writing seemed rushed, stumbling over itself in places that made the story awkward and forced. I also missed my favorite characters, Rayna and Toraf who have been a crucial part of the series, but show only when they're needed a near three-quarters of the way through.
I imagined them sitting on the sidelines, calling out, "Hey, what about us?!"

There were scenes that contradicted themselves, I found. And scenes that made little, or no sense to the forward motion of the story. Albeit, this book wasn't my favorite; I still love this series, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new and fun read.

This series has become one of my favorites, and I can't wait to read what Banks has coming out next! (June 2015, Joyride.)

Out of this trilogy, this book was probably my least favorite just because of the love triangle. I hate love triangles so the fact that one was put in here made it my least favorite. Emma and Galen were also kind of strange for me in this book because of how much they argued after being on the same page for most of the first two books.
I thought this book was sweet and wrapped up the series nicely.
Series recommended for; anyone who wants a sweet YA series with elements of fantasy
