WOW!!! I had low expectations of this book because of controversial reviews, but this absolutely blew me away. I almost DNF’d it halfway through and i’m soooo glad I didn’t. The first half was kind of hard to get through, and there was some questionable writing and cheese, but man the second half PICKS UP!!! Loved. 9/10

There are so many mixed reviews about Silver Elite that I eventually had to tune them all out. I decided to go in with managed expectations and form my own opinion, and I’m glad I did. While it’s not a 4- or 5-star read for me, I’m still happy I picked it up.

The world is what drew me in: Primes (non-gifted individuals) and the Modified (those with telepathy). The telepathic element, the worldbuilding, the history, and some (not Wren or Cross) of the characters and places were genuinely fascinating. I honestly wish the author had focused more on those elements rather than the romance... if you can call it that. It felt rushed and trope-heavy. This is one story where the romance should’ve been a slow-burn subplot, with more development and emotional weight.

Wren, the FMC, was frustrating to follow. Her choices often lacked thought. As for Cross? A typical love interest with the strong jaw, dark hair, sleeve tattoos, big muscles... and not much else. Everything was focused on physical attraction, which made me miss depth and an emotional or intellectual connection.

I did find the story entertaining overall, even with a few slower parts. The ending genuinely surprised me and left me curious enough to consider reading the sequel.

Wren’s recklessness and lack of accountability infuriatedddd me so much… pretty predictable and the little bit of spice it had didn’t make up for the fact that all the characters did not get fully developed at all; I felt like both Wren and Cross didn’t know what their personality was or what they stood for (and not in a way that was purposeful nor well written)
