I feel like I climbed Mount Everest reading this book. I started listening to the audiobook and got to about 50% before I switched to reading it physically and have to say the audiobook is pretty incredible. Love the voice actress who read everything. The book was rage inducing unfortunately. Many of the characters kept making such dumb decisions that I was screaming. The romance was very cute and this was a lot spicier than I thought it would be, but I enjoyed it. Overall I was entertained because it felt like Divergent and Fourth Wing had a baby...aka this book. I deducted a star off my rating due to how annoying Wren was about Cross. She kept talking about how hot he was so much I kept pausing the book because I was so annoyed. I also took off a star because I was so pissed off about some of the dumb ass decisions these characters made. It was so obviously predictable they were doing dumb things that I didn't understand why they happened. I also took off a half star because of the pacing. The book was too long. Too much filler content. I will read the next book, but omg what a mess lol.
fast-paced
Yeah I agree with the majority of these reviews. This is a very predictable, unoriginal book. Does that mean I didn’t enjoy it? No. But, I’m a sucker for these kinds of books. I will say it was exceedingly frustrating how horny Wren was in every fucking situation. And she could never stick to her guns (her ideologies) by staying away from Cross. It also felt a bit insta-lovey. Idk. I will read the second book, but I hope the writing quality improves.

Anytime there is a storyline with a military ops setting, my interest is piqued. Silver Elite did not disappoint. The part that made this fantasy annoyed me at first, but it grew on me. The romance parts were spicy, with the two main characters having decent chemistry given the trope. I zoomed through this and can't wait for book 2.

I enjoyed this book even though a few aspects were very predictable.
I liked the dystopian/post apocalyptic setting, the different Mod abilities, and the banter.

this was a good pallet cleanser from the high fantasy books I read. I'm also a sucker for a good dystopian story. this one includes a twist with people that develop mind abilities: read minds, project images into minds, control people via their minds.
it reminds me of The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon (my favorite series), only the bone season does it much better.
i still enjoyed this greatly while it was predictable sometimes. the characters are complex. the world building goes into decent depth and is interesting. i think this book is appropriately hyped but maybe I'm biased for the reason I listed before.
