OH.MY.GOD. I'm still reeling from that ending. READER BEWARE: this is not a standalone book.

This book was beautifully written in a fast cadence that hooked me page by page. Wren is smart, bold, and funny. Cross' smugness and his acute awareness of how hot he is, is an annoying trait I don't enjoy in book boyfriends. But he's a charmer for sure.

I didn't know this book is actually going to be a series until I was <100 pages from the end. I'm excited that the universe can continue, but I also really like the idea that this could be a standalone as is. I'm not a fan of open endings but for this, it feels like it works. And I think that's because it was written so gracefully.

I had never heard of this book until a special edition became available on Book of the Month. I am so glad that I grabbed it despite some middle-ground reviews. The main twist was predictable, but I was thoroughly entertained throughout the entire book. There were smaller twists thrown in here and there, the main character is a strong female lead, and the main predictable twist was still revealed well. I am excited for the author to continue this series as I very much enjoyed their writing.

Lowkey loved it! There were parts that I got a little annoyed by, but overall it was fantastic! I couldn’t put it down; I was too invested. The characters made me feeeelllll. I would 10/10 recommend

I want to start the review by thanking prhukexport for sending me this copy in exchange for an honest review. Truly, I appreciate this opportunity so much🫶🏻

When this book first got its hype, it was often compared to Divergent. On some occasions, I can get the reference but in my opinion this story stands completely on its own.

It took a while for the story to really set off, but as a lover of slow burns and detailed stories it wasn’t that big of a deal to me. As soon as the story took off, I had a hard time putting the book down. The tension, the twists, the action, this book was so full of everything.

I ended up giving the book 4 stars. While the story was very intriguing, I felt like the book could’ve moved a bit faster. However, I am really excited for Broken Dove (YES WE FINALLY HAVE A TITLE) and can’t wait for that one to release!
