Book 1: Christmas at Saltwater Cove by Ameila Addler.
****4 stars
Cute story about a female doctor visiting her sister across the country. Her sister happens to meet up with the docs ex boyfriend from high school and gets them to meet up again.
Book 2: Finding Faith by B.E Baker
***** 5 stars
Super cute, sweet story about a woman who doesn't want children because she doesn't want to be like her parents. But she's a natural at caring for others. I will be checking out other books by this author!
Book 3: Blessings on State Street by Rachael Bloome
**** 4 stars
Recently widowed military wife runs away from Christmas to a home that was passed down from an aunt to her late husband. Except someone already lives there.
Book 4: Best Intentions by Tamie Dearen
** 2 stars
This book is part of a series. (Which are all the others, so far as well). But this one included a lot of characters from previous books and it was hard to keep track of who was who. I also didn't love the story. I had a hard time with this one. I had to make myself keep reading.
Book 5: The Yuletide Manor by Jennifer Griffith
*** 3 stars
I didn't love this story. Maybe I just didn't love the writing style? A baker goes home for the holidays, and a sister's wedding. She ends up planning the wedding with the venue's director. She and the director have a history. It's really built up, but doesn't seem to live up to the hype the author gives it.
Book 6: Dreaming of her Cowboy's Kiss by Jessie Gussman
** 2 stars
A surgeon walks in on her fiance and another woman on their wedding day, before vows are said. She runs away, right into the arms of a man who has been in love with her since they met.
Book 8: Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend by Liz Isaacson
*** 3 stars
The two main characters were supposedly best friends in high school. It's been years. She's been married and divorced. He just left a cheating relationship. He seems really dense. You'd think since they were once best friends, they would at least be able to talk to each other. He acts like he's afraid of girls. And he's not very nice to her. I'm not sure how he was in a previous relationship, if he acted like this. I guess he's bitter and sad still, but it seems a bit extreme for him to act this way toward a woman he was once best friends with. The overall story was pretty good.
Her ex-husband comes back one night and just lets himself in. He's "passing through" and needs a place to sleep. The sherrif is called, and shows up, but she sends him away because the ex told her he would make her life miserable if she doesn't. They talk about how he seems dangerous, blah, blah, blah...and I expect him to show up at the some point in the story again and cause some sort of problem. But he doesn't. I didn't understand why he showed up in the story at all.
Also, toward the end of the story, she hires an ex-con to help on her ranch because she finally decides she can't do it all. I expected that to turn into some sort of problem too. But it doesn't. So I don't know why this ex-con employee is brought up front into the story.
Book 9: The Christmas Bachelor Auction by Rachel John
**** 4 stars
Cute story. Travel photographer's sister talks him into being a Bachelor in the Christmas Auction. It's for the senior center, and he's home for Christmas for the first time in 5 years. Sister's best friend outbids her neighbor, knowing that the neighbor is only bidding for her clingy daughter to have a boyfriend again.
Best friend (wood carver) and travel photographer have a history...this is gonna be awkward.
Book 10: A Royal Christmas for the Marine by Jess Mastorakos
**** 4 stars
I don't normally love a royal romance. They always seem so unrealistic. And that's what I though about this one too, until almost the end. At the ball, she tells off his ex-girlfriend (who is not a very nice person, by the way). And realizes that she had already wanted the life with her prince. She is just extra sure now. And she finds a way to fit into the royal family. And they really do love each other. So cute.
Book 11: Sandover Beach Christmas by Emma St. Clair
****4 stars
I've actually read this series before. I enjoyed this book again, and I want to read the entire series again! Grumpy policeman and single (but told her parents she had a boyfriend) event planner.
Book 12: Come Tomorrow by Tess Thompson
***3 stars
This was too long...! I finished it, and overall it was a good story. But so long.
