The plot.... emaculate. The romance...... enticing. These things really make this book a five for me. Just like in the second book they really make up for some of the writing that can start to pull me from the story. Sometimes some of the ways characters choose to say certain things seems off for the setting of the book. And I understand...... she has questions but why is it brought up AND responded to every 2 minutes. Occasionally is funny but after a while it can be too much.

This would be camp if it wasn't sincere.

I feel like there was so much potential for a good story and it was completely wasted.
I enjoyed the basis of the plot and the conflicts I felt made sense to the story line, but good lord, the dialogue is some of the worst I've ever read. Genuinely  Ive read ao3 fanfics written better than this. Everytime I started to think the story was getting good or it was redeeming itself, the dialogue ruined it.

Idk how Casteel puts up with Poppy but honestly he is just as insufferable. All the characters personalities are flat, Poppy is "nOt liKe oThEr GiRls", a huge pick-me, and everyone just eats it up??

It took me until a few chapters into this book that there are two guys "Malec/k", I thought she was misspelling the name the entire series. Also both opposing queens names are too similar and it was confusing. These are all side characters that are only talked about we don't really meet them throughout the story so I felt that made it more confusing.

The ending was a cop out, imo. once the twist happened in chapter 46, I just skipped ahead to the last chapter and read from there.

I was really hoping that since they were married now, there would be some good smutty scenes but there was like 3? 4? and they were mid at best.

Tbh, I think I'm avoiding this author from now on.

God this series has tanked for me. Like every other chapter had some sort of "major" revelation. I needed some consistency this book could not provide. The overused trope of Poppy being relatively innocent is getting old as hell too. I do enjoy how badass Poppy is and how much she is growing physically and emotionally but I swear this next book has to be better because I BARLEY made it through these last 50 pages.

Political strife
Identity politics
Family trees
Very slow beginning and middle, great ending but poorly paced overall
Too much time spent on world building and not enough time building tension around key plot points

Everything just falls into the lap of the main character.
Wanna marry a husband who would kill his own family for you even though you've barely gotten to know each other? Be my guest. Want to become queen of Antarctica? Take the fucking crown and get really aggressive and self-righteous if anyone in the kingdom ever objects. Want to be a literal God? Here! Have it and all of the combined powers of the world!
Jesus Christ is this ever a horribly bad self-insert fanfiction.

Also this book is very dialogue heavy when it definitely doesn't have to be. By the time one character spends 10 pages explaining something to our Y/N insert you could've just as easily explained it through action, not dialogue. And wanna know what the crazy thing is? You still have no idea what is happening to the plot 99.9% of the time even though information is practically being spoon-fed to you. I thought Gods and deities were synonymous but apparently, plot twist, they're not???

//Author's note: The MC is not just a deity, she's a God... okay!! Get that through your thick skulls! Gods are more epic and cool and they glow silver and there're Gods who are even above other Gods but Y/N is a descendent of those Gods too so she's like the most powerful being out there. And oh, she has a dragon army now and can bring people from the dead//

Casanova Steele is still as annoying as ever and Poopy does whatever the plot calls her to do. More things happened in this book compared to the last, however, which is why I'm giving it a slightly higher score than the previous installment in the series.

I'm so happy Audible has a refund option bc I really did not enjoy this book for the right reasons. I loved to hate it, I loved to imagine how the book could've been even slightly better than what was presented to me, and for that, I'll give this book some props. Some average-rated 5-star prediction books haven't come close to garnering this much passion out of me. Is it better written than average-garbage ACOMAF? No, but it's hella enjoyable to make fun of.
