This has been my least favorite of the series so far. There was a lot of redundancy and not enough world building to connect the threads of the plot together. I have hope as I move onto the prequel series and the war of two queens, that things will get better.

I don't quite know how to rate this. I've been reading this for so long it's hard to know where to start with this review.

My first thought is this is very heavy. 70% of the book I kept chipping away at it, reading in sprints and trying to follow along. This world is very complicated and the characters are hard to keep track. Who don't we like etc. etc. I like their romance. They're good together it's fantastic reading their romance. One thing I can say this author does is romances.

The other 30% of the book was really a page turner. Action started kicking off and I was enjoying the action. One scene I could tell what was about to happen and I had to put the book down and psych myself up for it. The ending was sweet and I liked it. I've seen the recommended reading order is the other series so I'll be going to that book next. Curious to see how this links.

This was so repetitive and frustratingly slow. I rated the first book 5 stars but this wasn’t as good. This book had a lot of dialogue but the banter between the characters were not as interesting as the earlier books.

However, I must say that the final chapters of the book saved this from being a total letdown.

lmao i truly cannot give this a real rating. 1.) i thought this series was only three books? 2.) why does this girls’ parents change every fucking chapter i truly have no idea wtf is going on 3.) the masochistic tendencies of these characters are getting too much for me. I rest my case.
