I read this book before I watched the movie, and like so many others, the book was soooooo much better than the movie. They left out a lot of important subjects in the movie which I am so glad I got to read in this book. If you've seen the movie, pick up the book. You won't be disappointed.

So obviously, this is a novelization of the movie. And even though I love all the movies done by the Kendrick brothers, I was skeptical about the book. Cause you know, sometimes the novelization is just the movie rewritten for you to read. There’s not actually anything new or better to it.

That is, happily, not the case with this book. We get more back story before Caleb and Catherine are already seen as married. We understand more about who they are as people, and what’s going on in their heads at certain moments. Eric Wilson did an excellent job of adding more to something that was already great, and not taking anything away from what was already there.

I stand by my general opinion. The book is always better. 5 blazing stars given to this wonderful and inspirational story.

This was a very good, very quick read. It was predictable, but there was still a good story here. I enjoyed this book quite a bit.

There was actually a lot of action in this book, I was pleasantly surprised!  I’ve heard of this book and movie for most of my adult life and finally got around to reading it. I plan on watching it with my husband now that I’ve read the book.

I have to admit I liked the action. And I LOVE a good reunion! It's clear that the authors have a complementarian/heirarchical view of relationships, but it wasn't the overriding theme. So, I could forgive that. I don't like it when people overgeneralize the way that women or men "just are," but that comes of a complementarian viewpoint.
