"As I started this book, I had a feeling it would become one of my favorites. I know people say the romantasy genre is redundant with its tropes, but I enjoy formulaic plots from time to time. That being said, I was fairly disappointed with this one.

I’ll start with what I liked. I loved the concept of the '7 Brothers of Sin,' with each representing a different sin. I also really liked our female protagonist, Camilla. It was refreshing to have a main character who embraces her softness and femininity while also being confident about her sexual desires. Her having a pet cat was also a cute touch!

Now, onto what I didn’t like. I wasn’t a fan of Envy. He left a bad taste in my mouth one too many times. For example, he would purposefully hurt Camilla, and she would be mad at him for maybe two paragraphs before their dynamic reverted to flirtatious bantering. It’s not like Envy didn’t realize he was being hurtful—he acknowledged it but brushed it off with, 'I’ll do anything for the game!' I really wish Camilla had held him more accountable.

I also wasn’t a fan of the plot, especially when it came to Vittora. This was the point in the book where I solidified my opinion about Envy’s character. Additionally, 'The Game,' which is supposed to be the central driving point of their partnership, felt like a side quest at times. Why did it take 40% of the book for them to get a single clue?

Overall, the book started off strong but slowly became lackluster as it progressed.

Omfg
Only took forever
I did not love
At all

Just like?? Idk
Did not do it for me

The world was just trying to do too much
And their magic made no sense

Also the plot was so boring not it
The twists were not twists so boring

And the dark and stormys OML. I can’t. Give it a rest. She even included the full cocktail recipe within the book. Nobody wants that put it in the end if u must

Idk what else
