My gosh, this is the book that has made me cry the most in 2024 (so far). I love the found family, addressing different aspects of death and the processing it. It made me appreciate life more for sure.

This is my second read by TJ Klune and I am blown away by the writing. I typically prefer plot-driven stories, but Klune writes such wonderful characters in the most creative of settings that I would read almost anything he writes. This book is about death and if you choose to read it, prepare to cry and cry and cry but also love every second of it???

This is the first book to make me cry in quite some time. It’s hard to imagine a book so centered around death and grief to be so vibrantly colorful and comforting, but TJ Klune has done it. While some plot points felt predictable, the book leaves you attached to multiple characters. It’s an easy read that can leave you feeling all kinds of emotions.

Under the Whispering Door was really cute. I hypothesized it would be your typical Klune book, and it was, in the best way possible. I love the quirky, snarky mcs who eventually come around to be a loveable goof. The found family is so wholesome. Klune is amazing at blending scenes that have me rolling with laughter with scenes that handle much more serious topics.
