This book was sent to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I'm not going to lie to you, there were some parts of this book that completely freaked me out. I've only just discovered Stine's Fear Street series and although it's not exactly my cup of tea, they do keep pulling me in. They're good.

The ending took me for a loop, I thought he was gonna be institutionalized or something but she turned it around full circle.

I read this a few weeks ago, as soon as it downloaded onto my Kindle. I have loved Fear Street ever since I was kid.

I was very unimpressed by this!

The plot gets crazier and crazier, and R.L. Stine obviously couldn't think of a way to tie it all together and have it make sense.

So he cheats.

That ending was the pits! I want my $10 back!

OK, let's start this off with the fact that this is a YA book, for Young Readers (Middle-High School). That being said, I'm in my 30's and still very much enjoyed this book. Clearly it's not going to be the most detailed and plotted out, it's for young readers,. But thinking back to when I was in that age range and how much I absolutely loved these stories, it was super nostalgic and really brought me back to those years. I remembered why I loved them so very much.

Would I give this book a super high rating now if I had never been a part of the fandom back then, probably not. Thinking about it in terms of my younger self, I give it a 4 star. The characters, setting and story line were fun and dark. At one point in the book (you'll probably know which part if you read it), I gasped and had a "wtf" moment. Again, that's taking it all in from my younger self's perspective. None the less, it happened.

I highly suggest books such as these and old Christopher Pike stories if you are a young reader, someone who is just getting into thriller/horror or just wants to feel that nostalgia as a fan that refuses to let go of the stories that made us the readers we are today.

P.S. the audiobook was FANTASTIC! The narrator really got into character and made it a blast to be back at Fear Street.

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Netgalley for a copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.

I bought this on a whim because *halloween*. I used to love reading RL Stine’s Goosebumps and Fear Street series, and can vividly remember how much they scared me when I was younger.

Now that I know how this story ends, looking back, it has an interesting premise. However, the ending still makes absolutely no sense, and made the rest of the story pointless and feel like a waste of time. Additionally, the main character is kind of a sucky person. I hated how she treated her friends, and her instalove with her boyfriend drove me insane.

The Dead Boyfriend

The closest to the old school Fear Streets of the revival. Loved it! Hoping there will be more like it.

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway.

I grew up with R.L Stine's book and was thrilled when he relaunched the Fear Street books. I found this one to be interesting and enjoyed it much more than the last one. I did like the twist at the end, it wasn't what I was expecting. I was a little confused at first but I think I figured it out.
Spoiler Caitlin turned out to really be Cathy-Ann and had told her parents here diary was really a story but I think she was lying to cover the fact that she murdered Blade and a random stranger. I think she called herself Caitlin because she is indeed nuts and the end Blade was coming back to haunt her! Of course that is just my opinion, I do think the ending can be open to your own personal interpretation, which was one of the reasons I liked it!

Such a great, gruesome Fear Street story! I loved the suspense and thought it was well paced. The narrator of the audio book did such a great job, I listened to this over a long drive and absolutely loved it! I didn't anticipate the twist and loved the ending. So good! Now I'm ready to watch the Netflix series!!

A huge thank you to the author and publisher for providing an e-ARC via Netgalley. This does not affect my opinion regarding the book.
