As always, I was a little hesitant going into The Lost Hero, because I don't love the idea of returning to a familiar world with completely new characters.

However, I should know better now than to ever doubt Rick Riordan.

Jason, Piper, and Leo are the perfect little bundle of outcasts. Each of them had what they believed to be a huge flaw, but ends up being a huge skill.

As much as I loved the characters and the story, it did feel like this book was mostly just set up for the rest of the series. Understandable, as that's exactly what it is, but still a little slow to read at parts.

I can't wait to (re)read the rest of the series!

This was so good. You can tell how much more developed the writing is compared to the first series and getting the different POVs helped to quickly flesh out each character. I loved the fast pace and quick humour and can’t wait to see where this series goes.

This was far from my first read through of the Heroes of Olympus series, and I have to say it never lets me down. I always get a kick out of starting the book and going "who's this Jason dude, what happened to Percy?"

I always get a hoot out of Leo, he's probably one of my favorites of the new crew. However, I always love how Piper grows in learning to accept her godly parent and learning what she can actually do with the skills it provides.

Overall, a great continuation and expansion on the original series.
