This book is definitely way too slow for the story it has. It's not as good as PJO but it has potential, too bad the characters aren't really engaging.

This was far from my first read through of the Heroes of Olympus series, and I have to say it never lets me down. I always get a kick out of starting the book and going "who's this Jason dude, what happened to Percy?"

I always get a hoot out of Leo, he's probably one of my favorites of the new crew. However, I always love how Piper grows in learning to accept her godly parent and learning what she can actually do with the skills it provides.

Overall, a great continuation and expansion on the original series.

The only reason I didn’t rate it higher was bc I guessed the plot at the end of the book halfway through. But still, honestly, Rick Riordan is such an amazing writer and all his books just grab me and don’t let go until I’ve finished reading it. It was amazing and I can’t wait to start Son Of Neptune.

While I think this book is a little longer than it needs to be (see the rest of Rick Riordan's books, I'm guessing. Why do they get so long??), you keep reading because you need to know what happened to Percy. And who the heck this Jason person is. The way the entire plot is set up really works to keep you reading and keep you guessing, all the while introducing you to Greek and Roman myths that maybe you didn't know about.

I do remember reading this when it first came out, but I couldn't tell you anything that happened in besides the fact that Percy disappeared and I remembered the things about the Roman camp. I also never actually finished this series, so I am excited to see where it goes next!

Here's to seeing if I can fit all the other books in before the new Percy Jackson book comes out in September.
