I was told going into this that if I could push through the Percy withdrawal, then I would be able to enjoy it and I have to agree. I started this book the same day that I finished The Last Olympian, and it was a nice palette cleanser since there were no tears this time. I enjoyed getting to meet some new characters and the last couple of chapters made up for how much character-building was done for these three main characters. I know that the next book is going to be very similar to this one since it introduces two more characters and sets up the main plot of the series, so I'm excited to see how that goes and the setup for the third book. I've heard that in this series the third and fourth books are the superstars, so I just need to power through the next one to get there.

Amazing, second time reading and always great. I do kind of wish that there was some more humor and lightheartedness, I feel like Jason being Roman dictates his entire personality, tough, disciplined and right to the point. But Piper really came into her skin, and so did Leo. Super excited to meet Percy again in Son of Neptune!!

When I finished the PJ series, I just had to stay in that world! I wasn't in the mood for anything else. The Lost Hero did not disappoint!

I think the writing has really improved and there's a lot more backstory to the Gods and Titans, which I find interesting.
