I found the plot very interesting and intriguing, and it was paced very well. I am a history buff so I loved learning more about this time in history. There were some parts, however, that made it clear it was a man writing from a woman's perspective. The ending "twist" also was a bit unbelievable, rushed, unrealistic, and my biggest complaint of the book.

But all in all, I really enjoyed the story - it was engrossing and kept me interested. If you're interested in this time period, and can forgive a few cringey descriptions as the male author sometimes fails at accurately portraying the perspective of a woman, I do think this book is worth the read. Save for the historically questionable "twist" near the end of the book, I really liked the plot and the time period was well researched and immersing.

When I heard about this novel, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, for me at least, the lack of believable character development and some of the plot let me down. Not a terrible book, the writing was just lackluster. Clearly, she did so a lot of research, but it just never jelled together for me.

Magda Ritter is sent to live with her Aunt and Uncle during WWII for her safety. When she arrives they tell her she needs to get a job and send her to apply with the 3rd Reicht. She is hired immediately as a taster for Hitler himself.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I found it a "can't put down" read full of suspense. There is a love story and of course, plenty of danger as Magda has to hide her hatred of Hitler and her love interests plan to kill him.

This book was captivating and moving. The ending moved me to tears. I loved this book

I liked this book very much, it was very readable. However I never got around to liking the main character, Magda. She was so selfish it baffled me.

I loved the idea of this story, but couldn’t get over the poor writing. If another author had written this, I probably would’ve liked it more!

I abandoned this at 50%. While the storyline was intriguing and the research impressive, I just didn’t like the the writing and didn’t feel involved in the characters.

This is a #OnceUponABookClubBox book. I really enjoyed this book, but I love WWII historical fiction. I enjoyed the twists that not everyone was as clear cut in their roles as it seemed.

Si me gustó. Una novela con una buena trama y un final “feliz”

En algún momento menciona “lo que el viento se llevó”
