Got so mad at Claire in this one. W.T.F.. woamn! I know you think you can handle anything in the world but you shouldn't put yourself in these positions with men, seriously. When he came to her room FOR A NIGHT CAP(!) I was like "Don't let him in! Well, ok, they're just talking maybe this is okay." Then I was like, "No, don't go to his room! That present is obviously for you don't take it. Don't help him take of his jacket! OMG ARE YOU KIDDING ME DON'T YOU **DARE** help him take off his shirt!"

But she did, because she is so utterly reckless all the time. I absolutely hated it and I was really really mad at her. If Joy acted like that, Claire would've given her the dressing down of her life. "Honey, are you nuts? How could you put yourself in that position? Don't you know better?!"

And finally, the only way for you to get out of that relationship with the billionaire was to kiss Matt?! Awful.

Also, I knew he rigged her phone from the very beginning. That CREEP!!! And you flew around the world with him, COMPLETELY out of touch with your boyfriend. I HATED ALL OF IT, IT WAS HORRIBLE.

Don't cheat on Mike. >_< I'm glad things with them were okay by the end but seriously, she just went way to far and I really really really really really didn't like it.

This was sooooo good! Just perfect - all of it. Can not wait for the next installment! And receiving a signed copy of this book, in hardcover, was an awesome Christmas present. :)

It may be because I haven't read one in a bit, but I enjoyed this one more than the previous few in the series. Solid cozy culinary mystery. Great for a beach read.

There was just too much going on in this story for me. Joy and her love life, side trips just because she could (hey private jet), the weird lustful men, the protestors, the bomb squad--and that's not even all of it! The mystery was fine enough, but all the side stuff was just overwhelming. And there wasn't much movement forward in terms of character development.

As usual, this was fun, and I loved imagining Clare jet-setting all over the world, especially to visit her daughter in Monmartre. Even though I don't expect realism from this series, I had to suspend my disbelief about the bombs, and I wasn't super thrilled with the tech theme, but the latter is a personal preference, mostly because I'm kind of over Silicon Valley fun campus depictions in 2019.
