Beautifully written. Loved how the stories all sort of tied up together in the end. Had been told that it was a bit repetitive but I was pleasantly surprised how different each of the storylines were

This book has been on my list forever, instantly added when I discovered its time travel plot. I absolutely love magical realism books, as I find time travel very thought-provoking. It's an overused trope in books, but when done right, is an incredible read.
Before the Coffee Gets Cold is one of these books where the author depicted time travel just right. The plot wove between the past, present, and future seamlessly, and I loved how all four short stories were intertwined by the end.
This a heavy, emotional novel that will make you miss those you've lost. Throughout the book, I thought frequently of those people in my own personal life, and what I would do if given the chance to go back in time. This book is heavy in a subtle way, but I ended each story with rising, hopeful feeling.
I would have rated this book higher if it were not as repetitive, and if the reader got a more in depth view of each character and each story. I realize that each segment of the novel is a short story for a reason, but think the overall plot would benefit from more expansion from the characters.
I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick, heartfelt read

I have been wanting to read this for a while and I'm glad that I did. This was a lovely story and interesting idea. I enjoyed most of this, and finished it in a day.

However, I did find some parts to be a little slow and repetitive. A good book if you want a palate cleanser in between heavier themed novels.
