An absolute dream of a book with lovely MC’s, a road trip that made me yearn for places I’ve never been, delicious diner food and a plot that feels like a warm hug. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Review:
Just an absolute delight! It's a grumpy sunshine, enemies to lovers, roadtrip romance that just hits all the right notes.

In writing this review after reading the first 3 Cabot books, it is interesting to note that in all of them, the Cabot in question is the silly, free, loosey goosey foil to their more straightlaced love interest. All of the love interests have different reasons for being as they are, but the Cabots we get to read about have the freedom to be as carefree as they are because of the privilege they hold. I appreciate that this doesn't go unexamined in the books, but it's interesting to consider as an overarching theme too!

Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5: Blows me away, loved it, life-changing, will sit with me

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ 4: Brown Girl Spicy (Multiple descriptive and detailed open door scenes; smut is very prominent but it does not overtake plot)

Perspective: third
Tense: past
POV: dual

YAY this book ROCKED. The intimate scenes were hot and special, the sweet build of affection between Peter and Caleb was really special to witness, and the fact that they have this queer future full of hope ahead of them was just what I needed during a midst of Horrible Fucking Current Events For Trans (And Queer) People.

Because this story is about fifty pages longer than Tommy Cabot, I think Sebastian had more time to give us both emotional development and meaningful character interaction; I would happily read a sequel to this book that gives us more of Peter and Caleb's life! Very much looking forward to my Daniel Cabot read next.
