i have heard people talk about books that they feel were written for them or took a piece out of their brains, and i have never felt like that. until today. this book was written for me. this book changed my brain chemistry. maybe someday i will write a comprehensive review but i will just say that i am a different person than when i started this book. cat sebastian is fucking incredible

I adore the whole series but this might be my least favorite of the trilogy? The characters for me were not as likable and the plot was slower. Of course this may be because of the snark and grumpiness the were traded back and forth but it was charming nonetheless. I love the way Cat Sebastian writes ~ it’s full of flavor with a perfect balance of  salt, fat, acid, and heat.

Ahhh, this was so cute. So many of my favourite tropes: only one bed, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, a couple of idiots pining after each other. This is exactly the kind of story I mean when I say ‘no plot, just vibes’ and Cat Sebastian is a master at it. It was so warm and soft and tender and I just adored every page. I loved reading these two fall in love on their road trip and find a place to belong with one another. It was lovely to see prickly Caleb open up to Peter and allow himself to be vulnerable without losing his grumpiness. And Peter was just the perfect pairing for Caleb, so kind and understanding and giving. It’s understandable how Caleb’s dislike quickly turned into wanting to protect him at all costs.

even though this had too much sex and instalove for my personal taste, peter and caleb are living rent free in my mind <3
was weirdly apolitical for a book about the son of a politician but i didn't expect otherwise tbh
also this was the first time i read the phrase "toeing off his shoes" in a PUBLISHED BOOK and it made me giggle
