I’m not wasting my time on bad books in 2024! The writing was just awful, if someone handed me a couple pages of this and told me it was written by a 12 year old on Wattpad I would 100% believe them.

Too convoluted, and a lot of it could be skipped, but every single person,  event or thing needed a long tragic backstory. There were twists every other chapter which made them not that interesting. Main character is pretty inconsistent, as is the magic system. It had some nice moments but they were not enough to make the book worth it.

decided to dnf about 50% in. boring characters, felt like nothing was really happening. the summary sounded really intriguing, but something fell flat for me.

A great fast paced story mixing magic and myth. A really unpredictable and exciting plot which kept me guessing. Really enjoyable. If you like circus magic & vampires this is a must read.
