I'm not giving this any stars or putting a done date on it as I didn't finish reading it. I really don't like things where the humor embarrasses someone. I get the fact the authors, whom I love and read other things by, were trying to punch up, but I couldn't get through the first few chapters.

Delightfully funny book
1. This book was The Princess Bride meets Pirates of the Caribbean meets Harry Potter. If you like any of these things, read this.
2. This book spent 300 pages to set up a rum joke and I cackled.
3. The rest of the jokes were great and there were several chapters that I laughed at least once a page, sometimes more. Because
4. The puns. The word play. THE. PUNS. The mastery over the English language required to make these puns is amazing.
Well done.
Was it a little heavy handed in places? Yes. It wasn't as subtle as Pratchett usually is though I'm definitely adding this to my list of "Books like Discworld I'm going to read often."
Anyway. Good stuff. While technically I suppose you could read this or No Country for Old Gnomes before Kill the Farm Boy, there are some spoilers. But also, if you read one of them that wasn't the first one first, I'd also say that it's totally fine. Like, the spoilers aren't HUGE. You know? Because they're mostly unrelated. Just some minor crossovers.
Heh. Ding-gull berries.
And do you know how long it took me to catch the pun behind Mack Enchiis? Longer than I want to admit. But I laughed so hard.
