This book just isn't my cup of tea.

The story follows the main character, Camille, back to her home town full of trama, while trying to write a story on two murders that have occured.

Everyone in this book is crazy. From drugs to sex and just straight up torturing people. It doesn't make sense to me that all this nasty stuff was going on in this small town and people just let it happen, mothers let it happen to their daughters, teachers let it happen to their students, the law let it happen to their civilians. I didn't agree with the choices Camille made throughout the investigation. Most of her reporting seems unethical besides the other questionable decisions. I can't help but feel sorry for her. I wish there was more about solving the case and getting facts rather than drinking and getting gossip. The writing is decent the pacing was good. Although the plot was predictable.

Sharp Objects is a psychological thriller. It follows the main character "Camille Preaker" who is a journalist and is assigned to cover murders of two teen girls in her small hometown. At first she is very reluctant to go but then she decides to go anyway (with a little push from her boss). The plot of the book follows Camille as she tries to make sense of the two murders that have happened in her hometown, intertwined with the glimpses of her past. The plots gets intriguing when it is revealed that both the girls were somehow or the other connected to Camille's mother. And Camille starts doubting whether her mother has something to do with them. The plot isn't fast paced without a lot of twists and turns. However, the ending felt quite abrupt.

This novel is a psychological thriller for good reasons as all the characters in this book are crazy, dark, twisted and disturbing. And I have quite a few issues with the way a few characters are portrayed. All in all, I didn't enjoy it much.

Huh not baddd actually. I don’t read a lot of thriller mystery books. I have read gone girl which I thought had great writing, but ended up hating my reading experience because I guessed the ending before I even began reading. But this one was an interesting time. I could easy tell Adora didn’t love Camille which was so gross to read. I first thought it might be Amma but only cause she was cuckoo. Then I was like nahhhhhh it gotta be the mamma so the end was really cool how they explained that. Poor Camille she really got dealt a bad hand.
