I've re-read this book once a year or so since it came out. It stays as enjoyable every time.

Fun, exciting and filled with pop cultural references for everyone. Completely different and 100% better than the movie!

Yeesh. I really didn't like the first half, but the second half was some fun, at least. Regurgitating lists of pop cultural touchstones isn't really enough to build characters that are interesting, compelling, or particularly tolerable. And (kind of not really spoiler alert, because this is established very early on in the book) the notion of a society kind of held culturally hostage by the nostalgia of one multibillionaire was pretty depressing. "Sorry about the worldwide famine and poverty, kids, but there's no way to escape it unless you immerse yourself in Duran Duran and Family Ties! HAW HAW HAW."
