Such a cute and relatable romance. Not super spicy but there is a little bit scattered throughout. I definitely identified with Alexis, the FMC. The MMC was sexy in an understated way — most notably for his actions and the way he elevated Alexis to treat her like a goddess.

Really enjoyed the first book in this series and looking forward to reading the others! This book is full of lovable small town characters, family drama, trauma (TW assault and verbal abuse), friendship, and finding love where and when you least expect it. I loved that we switched between reading Alexis and Daniel’s POVs to really get the full story. Very quick and enjoyable read!

I loved every second of this story. Abby Jimenez writes really well and balances romance and more emotional/difficult topics in a way that portrays the characters as very realistic and lovable, yet with flaws. She handled the variety is domestic abuse really well and the challenge between the main couple was realistic, higher stakes, and took some soul searching for the characters to overcome. Though Alexis needed more therapy, for sure lol. Loved it!!!

I've watched too many telenovelas as a kid to actually enjoy the rich girl/poor boy trope!!!!!!

I liked the begining of this book enough. I liked both characters and was really loving their romance, but as the book went on Alexis started to piss me off. Daniel was so invested in their relationship and put so much effort into it and Alexis gave nothing back!! She wouldn't even tell him her last name!! And she was always thinking that she kept her relationship separated from her real life to protect Daniel, but to me it really read like she was ashamed of Daniel, because a poor boy could never fit into her rich friend group... And her friends were awful (aside from Briana  which was one of the only characters I actually liked) she should have just told them off, at least earlier than she did!!!!

I also really liked how the book portrayed emotional abuse and how hard it is to notice it until it's already to late and you're to into the relationship to make a clean break. So I'm not trying to negate how hard it is to cut ties with someone you're suppose to love but is emotional abusive towards you. But like, it was so frustrating to see a 37 year old woman not being able to say no to her dad!!! And she was going to therapy! Why didn't her therapist give her the tools to put some space between her and her parents!!! Half of her problems would disappear if she just stopped talking with her dad!!!

Abby Jimenez has a gift. she has a way with words. she made a romance that had so many more layers than just physical attraction, and I applaud her for that. Can’t wait to read more by her!
