Ivy escapes an abusive relationship and rebuilds her life with the help of her family and best friend Autumn. She wary of trusting men and so only dates casually--no relationships for her. But then she meets Grant and she struggles with wanting to go further with him than she has with any other man.
Okay, so I love the story arc. I loved the way Grant was up front about what he wanted, and what he would and would not stand. I liked seeing Ivy push through her fear and get her man. Her breakdown and the way she was able to trust Grant and bare herself was a great moment in the story and the hills they had to climb didn't feel like too much. It was the right amount of angst for the pain of Ivy's past and Grant's need for her to let her guard down. It did need some editing, but it's the author's first so that was expected. I liked it a lot.

Wow!
For this to be her first novel, she did such an amazing job! This story was so refreshing and had so much depth. For it to be a novella, you go through so many emotions and get to know the characters on such a deep level. I love everything about Ivy and Grant! I can’t wait for book two because I also love Autumn and Dean. I hope they get it together.
