I enjoyed this book waaay more than the first. Lara is such a badass. There was so much action in this book. I loved the angst between Lara and Aren so much. I also can’t stop thinking about how the King of Inthicana didn’t know how to ride a horse lol. My only complaint is the ending. The way Silas died felt too easy and I wish we could have gotten more happy moments between Lara and Aren.

The character growth, battles, kick butt women and men, and love made this a good read. We get to see Lara in her element as well as meet her sisters. Without spoiling, I will just say I wish there was more of an ending/resolving for our main couple. Maybe that will come during the next book.

Dnf chapter 12.
I started reading this after not being particularly satisfied with the first one, I felt like I needed some satisfaction, you know? A resolution. But it looks like the redemption arc is kind of boring and dragged out, with the characters being even more dull than the first one. Unfortunate.

4.5⭐️ “She could not change the past, but she damn well intended to shape the future.”

Omg yesss! I really enjoyed this book! I loved getting to see Lara’s sisters and how they helped rescue Aren. The whole rescue scene was one of my fav in this book. I also really liked how we got to see Lara fight more since she had to hide it in the first book. I am obsessed with Lara she is such a bad*ss not only physically but also emotionally so strong and I just love her character. The ending scene with Lara being trapped is one of my fav book scenes ever. Overall I really enjoyed the plot of this book and the characters and I would recommend this duology!
