I’m not sure what this book wanted to be but it was a huge disappointment. DNF.

I don't normally read mysteries, but this one was entertaining. I read it on vacation and it was a nice light summer read. Not sure if i'll read the 2nd one, but maybe. I liked that it was set in France. Pretty cool.

I assume that this book falls into the category of "cozy mysteries." I'm not afraid to admit that I like a "cozy mystery" from time to time, and I did, indeed, enjoy this one.
Georgia Lee Maxwell is a writer, a journalist, who moves to Paris to get away from a number of uncomfortable elements in her life. She convinces a friend who runs a magazine to let her submit a monthly column from Paris.
She lands an opportunity to accompany a world-renowned art restoration expert to a museum in Paris, to observe and interview him as he restores a water-damaged piece in the museum. But while they are in the museum, two masked people invade the museum, wielding guns. They tie up Georgia, the art expert, and the museum curator, and they shoot the security guard. Then they steal a mirror.
While the museum curator swears up and down that the mirror is one of the least valuable pieces in the museum, there is a legend that says that the mirror once belonged to the famous "prophet" Nostradamus.
Suddenly, Georgia Lee has the story of a lifetime. And the hunt for the mirror is on. The problem is, there are several groups/people that want it.
It's a fast-paced romp with several surprise twists and turns, and it has a satisfying ending. If you're a fan of cozy mysteries, you should definitely read Magic Mirror!
