This was very different from my usual reads, but thoroughly enjoyed it! Huge love for the two main characters, however I feel like the middle was dragged out a bit and a bit long. Although, I’m sure someone more into this genre would disagree as it had lots of sciency and astronomy bits to keep it going throughout the middle.

I was not going to read this book anytime soon, but since I dnf'Ed Dune, I was craving for a sci-fi read. And this came to my mind as a sci-fi standalone novel. I also had the Martian in my mind but I have seen the movie, that's why I decided to pick this up. And it was not a disappointment.

Project Hail Mary is a survival story on who's shoulder, there is a weight to save the whole of humanity. And on top of that, he doesn't know anything about himself.

So, the first few chapters were so good, I was sucked in the book immediately. I liked the narration of the book very much and now I know for certain that I love 1st person POV. The tone of this book is pretty grim from the starting and it stays that way till the end, so there are sometimes when you just feel pity for our protagonist.

And the science used in this book is pretty hard. I mean I'm talking about nearly 40 to 50℅ of only science stuff going on in the book. And I liked it so much, I just can't explain. Some people may feel like an info dump here and there. But it has a satisfactory conclusion, so it's worth it.
