I really wanted to like it but I didn't. I almost hate read it (with the help of an audiobook) in hopes of liking it or reaching the good part. I'll probably give it another chance in a few years.

Wilde's social commentary is fantastically biting and shrewd, even more so if you read it with his trial in mind. On the other, I expected Dorian's character arc to develop a bit more - I found the characters to be quite flat and stagnant, and the pace dragged

“The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world it’s own shame.”

THE MOST QUOTABLE BOOK EVER?? YOU’RE TELLING ME WE HAD TO READ DICKENS OVER THIS IN SCHOOL? NAH NAH NAHHHH HOMOPHOBIA IS A DISEASE HOW IS THIS THE ONLY BOOK WE GOT FROM OSCAR WILDE THATS NOT FAIRRRR
