WOW! This book... oh fat baby! It’s like... it’s like a fucking death metal Red Dead Redemption. AKA: IT RULES BABY!! Travel across the West with the Black fuckin’ Magpie as he seeks revenge against those who have transgressed. You don’t fuck with Salem Covington. So so so very awesome!! Wait till you meet the Gun. Yes, with a capital fucking “G”! EPIC.

6/6 6 Shooter Skulls!!!

I was having doubts over the first half of this. Then the second half was riveting and more than lived up to the splatter western moniker. Just a blast reading this, and I came around big time. Went from 3 star to 4 star and nearly higher. Highly recommended, and I'm hoping this is representative of the rest of the series from Death's Head Press. Totally buying in after this excellent lead off hitting by Wile E. Young.

This book is awesome!

This is my first experience with The Splatter Western series by Deaths Head Press and it didn't disappoint.
The book is ease to read, and the pacing of the story makes it hard to put down.
There are some very creative, and gruesome deaths in this book, it has a Jonah Hex feel, but more gritty and serious.

I highly recommend this book if you are into dark westerns such as, Bone Tomahawk, 2:10 to yuma and Ravenous.

A good, short, violent read. Could have had some more saloon whore action but that's just me being nit-picky. Gonna read more of these.

I went looking for a Frank Bill or Zahler kind of violent story, and this mostly delivered except for having the main character being introspective about how tough they were and how they got that way a bit too much.

Red Dead Redemption injected with adrenaline-fueled occult.

Definitely a unique concept & fun read. I love a good western. I enjoyed the supernatural element, but overall I wish I liked it more. Repetitive at some times & read a bit weird at others. Otherwise written well. A solid 3/5 for me!
