Was really captivated by this wonderful Pandora retelling set in late 18th C London (More fiction set in this period please!).

I thought the ending was a bit rushed after a really slow start - and the Pandora myth could have been better explained / resolved

4.5 stars
In Georgian England, Pandora “Dora” Blake works in an antiquities shop owned by her parents before they passed, which is now in the care of her uncle. After coming across a Grecian pithos that her uncle has kept hidden, she is determined to find its origin. But strange occurrences start happening to those around her, and she must delve deeper into the pithos’ history before fate takes hold and all is lost.
This book kept me on my toes and I was eager to see what happened next in Dora’s story. The author’s writing was beautiful, though it definitely took a few chapters to get used to. I loved the different POVs, but they were constantly changing. It took a while to determine who it was with each change of character. When I tell you, this book almost made me cry, you know it’s sad. So far I have never actually cried reading a book, but this got me tearing up big time.
This book is great for historical fiction fans, and lovers of Greek Mythology. I would also recommend this to those who like the occasional mystery, and romance subplot.

Not at all what I expected but very enjoyable. Crime, murder, mystery and myth a really engaging story

Not my usual read, but I enjoyed the change. It was a unique and fun story of stolen art and family secrets and love in turn of the century England. I adored the female protagonist’s thoughts and storyline.
