What an odd, yet enjoyable, book. I found this when looking through free Kindle books and was caught by the "demon slayer" part of the title. I'm a huge fan of the TV series, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and this book with the word slayer and a cute little dog on the cover enticed me. Plus, it was free, so no loss if I downloaded it and hated it, right?
Well, I didn't hate this book. I didn't love it like that show about a perky blond teen who just wants to be a normal girl, but there are certainly similarities. A young woman, Lizzie, is about to head out to her 30th birthday party (that she planned) when her birth-grandma shows up with a Harley and locks her in her bathroom. There our accidental slayer is attacked by a demon and her adventure begins. Before the book ends, Lizzie discovers her dog can talk, werewolves are real, griffins can be sexy Greek men, and hell is a cold place.
The book isn't perfect, but it is a fun, quick read. The talking dog, Pirate, is adorable. There is humor, romance, battles and drama.

This work was very fun and a pleasure the read. It was a great diversion from some of the heavier books I've been reading lately. If you like the Sookie Stackhouse books and the Stephanie Plumb series, you will enjoy this as well.
When i first read this, I was in the throes of an obsession with paranormal romance. I loved the characters because they seemed so real... Thank You Angie Fox, for writing such a fabulous novel!
This book was an absolute delight to read. I had other things I should have been doing and I pushed them all aside in order to read this book. I cannot wait to read the others in the series and find out what happens next. It's even one of those rare novels I'm bothering to openly recommend to others.
I think the series has good potential. I look forward to the next book.
This was brilliant, I love how sassy Lizzie is and Pirate is an absolute hoot. Now I keep wondering if my own dog talks like that but I can't hear him
I love that the MC is running with an old lady witch biker gang. Nothing was really fleshed out but the magic and adventures were riotous.
Really, the worst of the worst this year. Plodding first person narrative of demon slayer, deathly boring hero, cardboard side characters. DNF. I challenge anyone to get past page fifty. I got to 133, and that was with a struggle.
Did not think I had actually read this before unhauling it. I was mistaken.
