4.5/5
It's in first person
And sounds like an unreliable narrator
I'm even sure the narrator says "you"...going to 2nd person and addressing the reader(happened once)
Although it is not clear he is writing a book
If you don't like this kind of narrative...beware
The world building is wonderful
But dizzying ...too many countries..lol
Because of the 1st person... there's explaining but not of everything
I think the narrator is a borderline Marty stu
It is a fun read
The tattoo magic...I have read another story with the same kind(SRD short story(Kings justice))....and was fascinated and this scratched that want
This was wholly unexpectedly good
But why not.... he's a rogue....a thief and a smart talking cad....we love this kind of character
There's unwritten depth and will be eagerly waiting for book 2

An entertaining YA read. I enjoyed the unique language and dynamic character relationships. An easy read that kept me engaged but didn’t change my life.
