If you love nerdy, sassy characters who can’t for the life of them resist a good (or often bad) pun or quip you will love this book. Assuming you also love fantasy. And romance.

I cried and laughed out loud for this one. It did a lot of things right. The plot is on the light side. But honestly you will read this for the journeys of the main and side characters and the moments they have together. The relationship between the fmc and mmc is wholesome but does have its spicy moments!

It does have a lot of possibly triggering subjects about trauma (happening in the past) so if that is not for you, you might want to skip this one.

I loved that almost the complete story was set in the afterlife. It was different and had unique elements. It made fun of some of the more common tropes of romantasy despite being one. And I am a sucker for this kind of humor. So give it a chance and Veni, Vidi, Velcro ;)

glittergandalf's review against another edition

DID NOT FINISH: 35%

The whole story seems to be one giant self insert fic for the author. Lily is seemingly perfect and so special (but of course she doesn't see it!) and every other character only exists to be in awe of her. If I took a shot every time a character was slack-jawed and in awe of her, I would have died of alcohol poisoning within the first 100 pages. The side characters have no discernable personalities and everyone has the exact same sense of humor. That same sense of humor is funny enough at first, but gets really tiring very quickly. After 220 pages there still is no real conflict, which makes for a very boring reading experience.
I think the setting and premise are super interesting, but it is such a shame this wasn't edited properly. I feel like it really could have been a great book if someone had been a little critical before publishing.
