The last book I have access to that was written by David Wojnarowicz. This, according to the woman who helped put it together, is a semi-autobiographical fiction of David’s years as a young man hitchhiking across the US. These stories are from people who he came across in his travels. He told her they were all true.

I was most affected by the last story “From the Diaries of a Wolf Boy” likely because it felt most like what David’s other writings showed - a way with words that give you pause, make you think, and appreciate the beauty he brings to language. I wish we could have had more of his writing because it is raw and real in a way that I immediately connect with as a reader.

Incredible.

Wojnarowicz’s writing is some of the most electrifying stuff I have ever come across

'I keep having these strange dreams ... last night I dreamt that I was a giant ... I was draped all over the planet ... My head rested on North America and my legs rested on South America ... my arms stretched out for miles and miles over the oceans ... and I could feel millions of fish just below the surface of the water ... I could feel them nibbling on my arms ... real gentle ...'

Sparse, individual sketches of people, places and situations. Haunting, like fallen leaves tumbling in the wind.
