Wow.

“To gain everything and lose everything in the space of a moment. That is the fate of all princes destined for the throne.”
Ok, I think I get it now. The finale of this series did wrap it up in a way that was both interesting and satisfying. I’ve grown to like both Damen and Laurent and it felt like the more I read about them, the more I understood them.
Are there still things I’m uncomfortable with? Sure. But I think this last book does a good job of finally questioning those systems and it seems like the MCs both are aware of the messed up society they live in and want to change it. That helps a little bit.
Overall I’m unsure if I’d recommend this series to anyone. I feel like it’s very divisive and people either love it or hate it as far as I can tell. For my part, I couldn’t put this last book down (I devoured it pretty much in one sitting). And although I read the first two relatively quickly as well, it felt like that was more for the morbid fascination of it all. So do I like this series? Even after all this, I don’t really know. And that’s ok, I think 😂

Best ending to the best trilogy I have read in a while. Would especially recommend to those looking for a true enemies to lovers story.
