It took me 11 days to read. And whether it was the fact that some parts dragged unnecessarily long, or that I have gotten sucked into adult responsibilities and having too many plans after work, which resulted in me reading only on my way to work, I’m not sure.
What I am sure tho, is that a nice looking red headed lady, I take the train with everyday at 6.20 am, must think I am mental at this point.
THE REACTIONS THIS BOOK PULLED OUT OF ME ON A PUBLIC TRANSPORT AT THAT WERE INSANE.
I was gasping (audibly), closing the book (loudly), staring ahead (for dramatically long moments) and tabbing it every four sentences.
I’m still recovering, and there’s too many thoughts in my mind.
Damen’s and Laurent’s bond and relationship was such a heartwarming story to experience, especially these tender moments in between all the chaos that was this book. I was blushing, giggling and kicking my feet more times than not, and the intimate scenes were held in such a calm and pretty way, it was just nice to read (especially the inn.).
And NIKANDROS, pookie, one chance!!!
He was such a lovable character! I wasn’t expecting that at all when we met him in the second book! Love him.
He filled the Jord void. Pookie where were you this whole book:(.
I am just glad I still have the summer palace to read. Because I’m not ready to let them go yet.

Oh man, I see how everyone became obsessed with this series! It all came full circle and what an end!!
Damen & Laurent, my beloveds! They both have grown so much, and it's been so interesting to watch their journeys both individually & together. I really grew to love Laurent in particular, just as Damen did. The political & personal betrayals, plot twists, and overall intrigue kept me hooked throughout the story.
My only complaint is that the Regent didn't receive a more painful ending - to say I absolutely despised his character would be an understatement.
I'm definitely going to be thinking about this series for years to come!

Fantastic ending to the trilogy. I really liked the character development in this series.
Long story short, I thought that this was a brilliant story with a good pacing and interesting characters.
So now it's time to say goodbye to the characters.... bye dear babies. :'(
