SO WEIRD. Like, super super weird. AMAZING art (inspired by Moebius and it shows), vivid colors, truly gross bizarre alien creatures. And cannibalism. I have no idea what's happening.

What really stands out about this is the art and imagination.

The setting is our Earth and our universe so far in the future as to be unrecognizable. Our only hint of familiarity are the newly awakened 'Prophets'.

This is a collaborative effort with different art and writers involved all of whom knock it out of the park.

This first volume doesn't have much in the way of character development. It's world building and an introduction to various Brother Prophets but the world building is so fantastic that it might as well be a character in itself.

As a side note, I get a strong impression of inspiration from the speculative evolution book, 'Man after Man'.

Picked this up on a whim at the library. Interesting aliens and world building concept, but a boring execution. I see a paradox in naming the character Prophet when he is a border-line neanderthal. Perhaps that is the point? Don't think I will continue as I struggled to get through this volume.

Launching point for a strange and fascinating SF grand narrative; enough world-building to keep you engaged but not overwhelmed

Wow! What an original story. This is not the usual sci-fi space opera epic one would expect. It is wildly imaginative with such a huge world building narrative that I can’t remember something similar. The art and the designs are top notch. The story keeps dragging you in with layers upon layers of action and exposition.

As long as they can keep giving it more depth than slaying all the aliens, this could turn out to be pretty interesting.
