No way Shakespeare is the one that coined the phrase “Goodnight, sweet prince” 😭 also why did I remember Ophelia being a bigger part of this when I read this senior year of high school? Girl is in one scene per act then just drowns

I'm going to start ranking shakey-baby's works in terms of enjoyment as I progress through them instead of rating them (plays always feel difficult to rate as written texts bc they're meant to be produced and seen, yk?). Not going to include works I've read in the past until I get to them again as part of this reading challenge!

  1. Hamlet

On the purely superficial level of personal entertainment, not my favorite of Shakespeare's works that I've been exposed to, but wow is it impressive how many lines, moments, images, monologues, etc, from this have become indelibly inscribed in the broader cultural consciousness of the English-speaking world.
