Well written, insightful and exciting. What you expect from a Robert Harris book. Not knowing much about Ancient Rome generally, and this era in particular, I found it hard to keep track of all the similar sounding characters, and didn't have the base level of knowledge he assumes I have about the various elements of the ancient Senate. Good fun though.

Really enjoyed this book. It's a fun and interesting story that serves to explain how the political structures worked in the late Roman Republic. I am excited to read the other two books and see what happens next.
