I did hear a lot about how bad the book was vs the movie. But honestly, they are very similar for the most part. Especially with the Racism against Native Americans. Though, in the book, Peter Pan isn't a misogynist, so there's also that.
But still, this book was a wonderful, one day read for me! It ignited happiness for my inner child, while also being witty, beautiful, sad, and more.

Indeed, I didn't enjoy this story, it is a disappointing book with very annoying characters.
I know I'm a minority here.

It was interesting to see the origins of my childhood favourite cartoon, I even dreamed of travelling to Neverland with Peter Pan twice as a little girl!
Of course Disney doesn’t show all the violence present in the pirate team but I never truly knew just how ruthless they were. I saw Peter Pan in a somewhat different light, found out his touching backstory or what remains of it.
Tootles is my favourite character, he is just such a sweet lost little boy.
The writing was really accessible and yet beautiful in its own sense, with the author almost showing us the scenery rather than describing it by commanding us to “look closely” and “pay attention”.
As to the ending, it was heartbreaking. I found my eyes glistening, hardly resisting the urge to breakdown and yet I managed to take a deep breath and calm my spirits.
A sweet, heartwarming story!

I think this is the first time I haven't stuck to a .5 or .0 rating. It deserves more than 3 but not as much as a 3.5
Peter Pan was never my favourite so don't hate me

Classic, but very sexist and racist. One of the stories Disney improved.
