The classic tale of Ferdinand, a bull who would rather sit under a cork tree and smell the flowers.

The importance of being peaceful and how easy it is to be put in the wrong box. We all need to go out and smell the flowers and be happy.

My fifth book in my Banned Books Week readathon. This one was recommended to me by Zoe's Human, thank you for the recommendation!
It is about a big bull named Ferdinand who looks strong and buff, but is actually very sweet and peaceloving and just wants to sleep and smell the flowers. He gets taken to the bull fighting, but instead of going against the matadors... he loved smelling flowers.
Somehow I remember the story from somewhere, so I did some searching around and found out there is an animation which I did see when I was a kid!

Where has this story been all my life?! Regrettably, I do not remember reading it as a child. I love the story, the simplicity, and the black drawings. It's a great lesson for children: you do not need to change who you were created to be just because others consider you to be "different." My youngest loves this story and has gotten everyone in the house to read it to him now haha I think he's even almost memorized it.

Classic story that can be shared with readers of all ages. A mighty bull just wants to sit and smell the flowers.
