Love a Shakespeare riff but character development was lacking here for me
As a Punjabi-American woman, this book felt delightful in a way that was specifically FOR ME. Punjabis are messy, messy people and it was so much fun to read a book that reveled in that fact. There were so many funny moments (“Calm down, Devdas” and “That’s not Sabyasachi” specifically made me actually laugh out loud). I’ll be going back to start the series (accidentally read this out of order, whoops!) and am eagerly anticipating the next book.

3.5 stars. Oof. I really wanted to like this more. I was more invested in each of the characters and their respective familial issues than the love story between them. Also, the mystery aspect was such an afterthought, it felt like it didn’t exist until they revealed the culprit at the end. Also the love story felt very insta-love, which I don’t necessarily mind but in this case, it wasn’t shown well

What a delight. I could have used a content warning about how much of a control freak Bobbi is. She has to do everything herself, and she doesn't trust anyone enough to ask for help. Like dang, you did not have to call me out that hard!
She is really good at her job though. And when she eventually stands up for herself, it's perfection! The same can be said for Benjamin. I was ready to break up with him too, Bobbi. But I'm so glad he saw the light for you, girl.
I have a parody cookbook that's 50 Shades of Chicken or something. I feel like Bunty read that at a really pivotal moment in the development of his desire and I'm here for it.
Funny, spicy and can’t live without the aunties! I loved dating Dr. Dil so it was no surprise when I couldn’t put down Tastes like Shakkar either.
Much Ado About Nothing is my favorite Shakespeare play, so this was super cute! A fun, light summer read.
