informative slow-paced

Fonts are one of the many nerdy things that I take an interest in. They're just so neat.

Arguably my interest didn't quite extend to reading a ~300 page book about them.

I think what I really wanted was a 10,000 word article about the recent history and psychology of different fonts, and then a multiple choice quiz that tells me what font I am.

A good if slightly repetitive read. My scruffy library copy didn't help my reading experience.

Interessant men slow pace

Nice book on type, the history of type, how and why fonts developed...if you're into this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing you'll enjoy.

2.5 - struggled to get into the flow and had a hard time concentrating on it

5* for an informative book about fonts…3* for a scintillating read…I guess what did I expect!
funny informative lighthearted fast-paced

Pretty patchy. A typical superficial book written as a series of superficial snippets... Very disappointing.

Entertaining. Really! I kept reading bits out loud to my husband.

If you’re writing a book about fonts then you need to show the fonts more. The whole book was just random information often with slightly too technical language.

Fascinating stories behind the development of those fonts we choose with such abandon on Word!
