In this the second installment of The Rising Storm Midseason, we find that Sebastian Rush and his mother are plotting to cover up his transgressions and will try to turn everything around to make it fall on Ginny and Dakota.

Marylee Rush will stop at nothing to destroy Dakota and will use everything in her power to get her to sign a non-disclosure agreement, even her father. Trying the same thing with Ginny, she is not so easily persuaded and tells Marylee very kindly to take a hike (Way to go Ginny!).

To try to improve his image Sebastian has Logan tricked into accepting an award for his bravery, but Logan has news for the fare Senator Rush, he will not be used, and he better not mess with Ginny or her baby.

As Brittany and Jeffry work through their father's betrayal, Payton will suck it up for the good of her family and her children.

This episode sets the stage for more dark and dirty to come and I can not wait to see what happens in the next installment of The Rising Storm

This midseason episode focuses on the Rush family and how the aftermath of Dakota's announcement plays out with their family. MaryLee, the matriarch is determined to save the reputation of her son, the White House is still in her grasp if she has anything to say about it. But how can this be spun to their advantage? Payton, Brittany and Jeffrey continue to try to deal with it, Brittany with Marcus is a definite blip in the mix with Marcus and Dakota being siblings. This dysfunctional family will make any look completely normal as you listen.Paul Boehmer keeps this addictive serial going with his narration as we begin season 2!

Highly charged and as dramatic as a soap opera can be, this second mid-season episode sees Sebastian Rush's family picking up the pieces after Dakota's revelations.

Unsurprisingly, another storm is brewing in Texas and Marylee Rush is in the epicentre. Whilst she's always been a formidable woman, we haven't seen anything yet as she plots and schemes. After consulting her contact list for unscrupulous people, she enlists the expertise of Oliver Stayton, a crisis manager to assist clearing Sebastian's name. With an impressive record for cleaning up the reputations of other politicians, he's ruthless as he sets out a plan to win the election.

Logan Murphy who's still coming to terms with Ginny Moreno's deception becomes an unwilling pawn at a Senator Rush PR event.

Ginny Moreno shows she's not a pushover whilst Dakota Alvarez caves into Marylee's demands in the hope she'll get back who she misses in return!

Payton Rush remains the stoic wife whilst seeking out words of support and comfort from her friend Francine.

Sebastian Rush's insincere tactics make Tate Johnson question his allegiance to the gubernatorial candidate or is he eyeing up ways to exploit the unprincipled senator for his own gain?

To sum up, Larissa Ione has done a fabulous job completing the scene setting for Rising Storm Season Two in the Autumn. I'm left craving more of this captivating and highly addictive series. One thing that's impressed me about the writing is that all the authors have brought their own style to each Rising Storm episode whilst managing to keep the flow consistent and seamless. If you've not discovered this series, there's time to catch-up before the new one kicks off later in the year...can't wait!

And the fallout continues! Dakota had no idea the trouble she'd bring down on the entire town with her not so little revelation. The Rush matriarch, Marylee, continues to try and make Dakota's life a living hell while at the same time trying to "cover up" and "explain" why the Senator slept with girls the same age as his daughter - one of those girls was even his daughter's best friend.

The Senator's family is still reeling, and the kids are forced to realize their parent's marriage wasn't quite what they had thought all these years. His wife, Payton, seems to be moving in a direction that is a bit unexpected, but I'll have to wait and see if anything plays out with that.

Another wrap-up, bridge type of episode. Setting the stage for season two and getting all the players in place for something big to happen.

Cliffhanger at the end of every single novella.

I really wish season 2 came in a bundle too :(
